Sleep Quality and Lifestyle in Modern Bulgaria

A study on the influence of daily habits on sleep among Bulgarians, presented by The Sleep Traveler.

In today's world, dominated by technology and dynamic work schedules, sleep quality is becoming an increasingly valuable resource. In Bulgaria, this issue is particularly relevant, as lifestyles have a direct impact on nightly rest.

One of the key observations is related to screen time. On average, Bulgarians spend over 4 hours after work on digital devices, which delays melatonin secretion and makes falling asleep difficult.

Work schedules also play a significant role. Flexible and irregular working hours, characteristic of certain sectors, disrupt the circadian rhythm. This is particularly pronounced among people working shifts or in the service sector.

Travel, both business and personal, is also a factor. Frequent time zone changes or even spending the night in an unfamiliar environment can lead to temporary insomnia and sleep disturbance.

Experts in the field of sleep science, including researchers from Bulgarian universities, emphasize the importance of routine. Establishing a consistent sleep and wake schedule, even on weekends, is one of the most effective strategies for improving sleep.

The analysis shows that a combination of factors โ€“ diet, physical activity, and stress management โ€“ is crucial. Public awareness of these interconnections is growing, which is a positive trend.
